Becoming a Christian |

HOW MAY I BECOME A CHRISTIAN?
Trusting Jesus Christ as your Savior is the most important decision you will ever make. To become a Christian, you need to . . .
REALIZE You Have Sinned (Romans 3:23; 6:23) All of us have “missed the mark” of God’s righteousness and stand guilty before Him. Because of this we deserve death–eternal separation from God.
RECOGNIZE Christ Paid for Sin (Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4) By dying in our place and rising from the grave, Christ paid for sin - in full - and thereby solved both the sin and death problem.
RELY on Christ for Salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9) We must abandon the idea that we gain salvation by our own efforts or abilities. We must trust Christ alone to receive forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
RESOLVE to Live for Christ (2 Peter 3:18) Just as newborn babies need nourishment to grow and mature, we need nourishment for spiritual growth and maturity. This includes a commitment to regular Bible reading, prayer, fellowship with other believers, discovery and use of spiritual gifts, and more. In short, it’s a commitment to a lifestyle of discipleship, becoming more and more like Jesus.
Prayer: “Dear Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins and turn my life over to You. I now invite You into my heart and life and I want to follow You as Lord and Savior. Amen.”
“Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
